Autistic Connections Group

Who is this group for?

This group is about connection, rest, and support. You will learn more about your Autistic or AuDHD experiences and how you could build your life around your needs.

This is a space where you can show up as you are and feel understood and less alone in your experiences.

You do not need a formal diagnosis to belong here. You might be newly identifying, self-identified, questioning, or years into understanding yourself. All of that is welcome.

  • 1.5 hours/session

  • 1 evening session/week for 8 weeks

  • 5-10 participants

Session Topics

  • Autistic Identity

Exploring what it means to understand yourself through an Autistic or AuDHD lens, including later-in-life self-identification, identity, belonging, grief, relief, and self-understanding.

  • Internalized Ableism

Noticing the messages we’ve absorbed about productivity, independence, functioning, and worth, and beginning to question which of those beliefs actually belong to us.

  • Connection & Relationships

Exploring Autistic ways of connecting, communicating, setting boundaries, navigating conflict, and building relationships where we can feel understood without having to perform.

  • Rejection Sensitivity

Making sense of burnout, chronic overwhelm, reduced capacity, and recovery, with a focus on reducing demands, honouring limits, and building more sustainable ways of living.

  • Autistic Rest

Exploring what actually helps us recharge and feel more like ourselves, while noticing the barriers that can make rest difficult to access. We’ll work on identifying rest that works with our nervous systems and real-life circumstances.

  • Sensory Experiences

Exploring sensory overload and sensory joy, and how we can better honour our individual sensory needs. We’ll talk about reconnecting to ourselves and our unique sensory experiences

  • Masking

Exploring how burnout can grow from masking, overload, and living within systems that ask more of us than our nervous systems can sustainably hold. We’ll also look at what care and support can look like when some demands can’t simply be removed.

  • Closing

Reflecting on what we’ve learned from ourselves and each other, what we want to carry forward, and how we might continue building lives that feel more supportive and more our own.
